Sunvivae 40A MPPT Solar Charge Controller, 12V/24V Auto, 520W/1040W with LCD & Dual USB
40A MPPT Charging for Larger 12V & 24V Systems
Manage higher-capacity off-grid solar charging with automatic 12V/24V recognition, advanced MPPT tracking, flexible battery profiles, LCD monitoring and intelligent DC load control.
More Capacity for Demanding Off-Grid Systems
Connect the battery first and the controller automatically identifies a 12V or 24V system. Match the PV array to the correct battery voltage and keep array open-circuit voltage below 100V under every operating condition.
Track Available Solar Power Efficiently
Fast maximum-power-point tracking responds to changing solar conditions, delivering tracking efficiency of at least 99.5% and maximum conversion efficiency up to 97%.
MPPT Tracking
Continuously identifies the available maximum power point from the PV array.
Conversion Efficiency
Efficiently converts available solar input into controlled battery-charging power.
Rated Charge Current
Supports larger solar battery systems when correctly sized, wired and protected.
Compatible with Common Lead-Acid & Lithium Batteries
Select the correct profile for the connected battery chemistry and verify all charging values against the battery manufacturer’s requirements.
- Flooded lead-acid batteries
- AGM and GEL batteries
- LiFePO4 and supported lithium profiles
- User-configurable charging parameters
- 8–32V supported battery-voltage range
Four Load Control Modes
Control compatible DC lighting and loads manually, by day/night conditions or by a configured operating period. The dedicated LOAD output is rated at 30A and must never be used for an inverter.
Reliable Charging—Installed in the Right Location
The aluminum heat-sink design supports heat dissipation for stable operation. Because the enclosure is rated IP30, install the controller indoors in a dry, well-ventilated position away from moisture, rain, direct sunlight and flammable materials.
- RV and camper battery systems
- Off-grid cabins and remote buildings
- Marine systems when mounted inside a dry cabin
- Compatible solar lighting, pumps and DC loads
- Operating temperature: −20°C to +55°C
Convenient Device Power with Efficient Cooling
Two USB outputs provide convenient 5V power for compatible devices, while the rear aluminum heat sink helps dissipate operating heat. Keep adequate clearance around the controller and never block its ventilation area.

PV power ratings are system limits under ideal conditions, not guaranteed output. Actual performance varies with sunlight, temperature, wiring, panel orientation and system configuration.
Battery First. PV Array Second.
Open all breakers or disconnects before wiring and verify cable polarity, conductor size and protection ratings.
Connect the Battery
Connect the battery, close its breaker and allow the controller to power on and identify system voltage.
Connect the PV Array
Confirm cold-weather array Voc remains below 100V, connect the PV wiring, then close the PV breaker.
Connect a DC Load
If required, connect a compatible DC load within the 30A output rating. Connect an inverter directly to the battery.
Essential Safety Notes
- Never connect the PV array before the battery.
- Never connect an inverter to the controller’s LOAD terminals.
- Never exceed the controller’s voltage, current or power limits.
- Install indoors in a dry, ventilated location; IP30 has no water-protection rating.
- Use properly sized cables, fuses and breakers. Qualified installation is recommended.
Before You Connect
Does the controller automatically recognize 12V and 24V?
Yes. Connect the battery first so the controller can power on and identify system voltage before the PV array is connected.
Can I connect a 100V solar array?
No. PV array open-circuit voltage must remain below 100V, including the voltage increase caused by cold weather. Design with an appropriate safety margin.
What battery types are supported?
Supported profiles include common Flooded, AGM, GEL and LiFePO4 batteries, along with configurable parameters. Always select the correct profile and follow the battery manufacturer’s charging requirements.
Can I connect an inverter to the LOAD output?
No. Connect an inverter directly to the battery through correctly sized cables and dedicated overcurrent protection. The LOAD terminals are for compatible DC loads within the 30A rating.
Can it be installed outdoors or in a boat’s open deck area?
No. IP30 provides no water protection. Install the controller indoors in a dry, ventilated location, including when used in marine systems.
Why might charging behavior change near the high-voltage disconnect point?
The controller may apply PWM limiting near the high-voltage disconnect point to prevent further battery-voltage rise. This protective behavior does not change the product’s MPPT operating design.
